12. Emma Mandley (William2, Fletcher1). Born on 6 Aug 1826 in Burslem, Staffordshire, England. Emma was baptized in Burslem, Staffordshire, England, on 20 Aug 1826. Emma died in Staffordshire, England, in 1913; she was 86.

Emma was baptized at the Methodist New Connection Bethesda Chapel at Albion Street, Shelton, Hanley.

Family Bible states birth as 3 August 1826 (Emma Mandley Webb).

Emma Mandley resided with her grandparents Jonah and Fanny Read according to the 1841 British census. The Read family resided on Commercial Street, Burslem, Staffordshire. Emma Mandley was a potter. The 1851 census indicates that Emma Lockett and her eight-month-old daughter Eliza resided at Black Hill, Rushton village, Burslem, Staffordshire with her parents William and Thirza Mandley. Emma was apparently widowed and a potter. All members of the family were born at Burslem. (HO 107, piece 2003, folio 541, p. 19)

In 1861 the British census states that Humprey and Emma Webb resided at 10 Bleak Street, Burslem, Staffotdshire. They resided with her parents William and Thirza Mandley. Humphrey Webb was a pottery ovenman. Emma Webb was a potter (sconcer). William Mandley was a shoemaker. William and Thirza Mandley and Emma Webb were born at Burslem. Humphrey Webb was born at Ashley, Staffordshire. (RG 9, piece 1930, folio 67, p. 22)

Emma and Humphry Webb resided at Post Office Yard, Ferry Fryston, Yorkshire according to the 1881 British census. They were both born at Burslem, Staffordshire. He was a dipper at a pottery while Emma was described as a dipper's wife. (RG 11, piece 4586, folio 74, p. 3)

The 1891 British census states that the widowed Emma Webb resided at 13 Gower Street, Hanley. She was a lodger in the household of the widow Mary Baddaley. Emma Webb was born at nearby Burslem. (RG 12, piece 2173, folio 65, p. 46)

Emma Webb resided in the household of her grandson Humphrey Kelsall, his family and three other Kelsall grandchildren according to the 1901 British census. The family resided at 2 Chester Street, Hanley Staffordshire. The census states that she was "living on own means". (RG 13, piece 2606, folio 124, p. 47).

On 10 Nov 1845 Emma first married Thomas Lockett in Burslem, Staffordshire, England. Thomas died in 1851.

13. Simpson Read Mandley (William2, Fletcher1). Born on 12 Apr 1828 in Burslem, Staffordshire, England. Simpson Read was baptized in Burslem, Staffordshire, England, on 4 May 1838. Simpson Read died in Burslem, Staffordshire, England, on 2 Jan 1884; he was 55. Occupation: Potter.

Simpson Mandley and his family resided at 8 Albert Street, Burslem, Staffordshire according to the 1861 British census. Stephen Mandley and his seven-year-old son William were potters. Martha Mandley is described as a potter's wife. William Mandley and the children were born at Burslem. Martha Mandley was born at Alderley, Cheshire. (RG 9, piece 1929, folio 145, p. 36)

Simpson and Martha Mandley with their five children resided at 7 Albert Street, Burslem Staffordshire according to the 1871 British census. Simpson Mandley and his sons William and Simpson were potters. Martha Mandley was a shop keeper. Simpson Mandley and the children were born at Burslem. Martha Mandley was born at Bond (Boon) Hill, [Audley], Staffordshire. (RG 10, piece 2853, folio 46, p. 11)

In the 1881 census, Simpson and Martha Mandley resided at 7 Albert Street, Burslem. Four children resided with them at the time: William, Simpson, Elizabeth and Ellen. Simpson Mandley and his four children were potters. He and the children were born in Burslem. Martha Mandley was born at Bound (Boon) Hill, Audley, Staffordshire. In 1852 Simpson Read married Martha Steel in Cobridge, Staffordshire, England. Born abt 1831 in Audley, Staffordshire, England.

15. Ann Mandley (William2, Fletcher1). Born on 19 Jul 1832 in Burslem, Staffordshire, England. Ann was baptized in Burslem, Staffordshire, England, on 19 Aug 1832. Ann died in Burslem, Staffordshire, England, on 1 Jan 1865; she was 32.

On 29 Dec 1856 Ann married Elijah Fynn, son of John Fynne, in Norton-in-the-Moors, Staffordshire, England. Born abt Jan 1835 in Burslem, Staffordshire, England. Elijah was baptized in Burslem, Staffordshire, England, on 25 Jan 1835.

At the time of their marriage, Elijah Fynne and Ann Mandley were potters. They resided in Smallthorne village, Burslem. Elijah Fynne was literate while Ann Mandley was illiterate. (St. Bartholomew Anglican Church)

16. Fanny Mandley (William2, Fletcher1). Born on 2 Dec 1835 in Burslem, Staffordshire, England. Fanny was baptized in Burslem, Staffordshire, England, on 21 Feb 1836. Fanny died in Burslem, Staffordshire, England, on 9 Apr 1897; she was 61.

Fanny Rutter died of cirrhosis of the liver and exhaustion. She died at 108 Liverpool Road, Burslem where she and her husband lived.

On 22 Mar 1857 Fanny married Robert Rutter, son of Robert Rutter & Elizabeth Latham, in Norton-in-the-Moors, Staffordshire, England. Born in Apr 1833 in Madeley, Staffordshire, England. Robert was baptized in Madeley, Staffordshire, England, on 11 Apr 1833. Robert died in Burslem, Staffordshire, England, on 29 Dec 1897; he was 64. Occupation: Potter's Kiln Fireman; Foreman.

The 1851 census states that Robert and his younger brother Ralph Rutta were lodgers in dwelling on Amaiable Street, Tunstall, Staffordshire. Robert Rutta was a potter's oven man. He was born in Tunstall. (HO 107, piece 2002, folio 446, p. 6)

At the time of their marriage, Robert Rutter and Fanny Mandley were potters. They resided in Smallthorne village, Burslem. Robert Rutter was literate while Fanny Mandley was illiterate.

Robert and Fanny Rutter with their children resided 120 Liverpool Road, Burslem according the 1871 British census. Robert Rutter was a potter fireman, and his son Robert was a potter assistant. Robert Rutter and his family appear in the 1881 census. They resided at 48 Liverpool Road, Burslem, Staffordshire. He was born in Madeley, Staffordshire while his wife Fanny and their children were born in Burslem. Their five children resided with them. (RG 11, piece 2713, folio 32, p. 14)

Robert Rutter and his family are found in the 1891 census. They resided at 108 Liverpool Road, Burslem. He was born in Madeley, Staffs. Fanny and the children were born in Burslem. He and his sons William H. and George M. were potter's kiln firemen. His daughter Margaret was a lathe treader. (RG 12, piece 2162, folio 26, p. 8)

Robert Rutter died at home. He died from cystitis and uræmia. He resided at 108 Liverpool Road, Burslem and was a potter’s kiln fireman.
