Simpson Read was baptized in Burslem, Staffordshire, England, on 4 May 1838. Simpson Read died in Burslem, Staffordshire, England, on 2 Jan 1884; he was 55. Occupation: Potter.

In the 1881 census, Simpson and Martha Mandley resided at 7 Albert Street, Burslem. Four children resided with them at the time: William, Simpson, Elizabeth and Ellen. Simpson Mandley and his four children were potters.

On 29 Dec 1856 Ann married Elijah Fynne / Flynn, son of John Fynne, in Norton-in-the-Moors, Staffordshire, England. Born abt 1834 in Burslem, Staffordshire, England.

Fanny Rutter died of cirrhosis of the liver and exhaustion. She died at 108 Liverpool Road, Burslem where she and her husband lived.

He and his sons William H. and George M. were potter's kiln firemen. His daughter Margaret was a lathe treader. (RG 12, piece 2162, folio 26, p. 8)
Robert Rutter died at home. He died from cystitis and uræmia. He resided at 108 Liverpool Road, Burslem and was a potter’s kiln fireman.
