Abt 1915 Samuel Alison married Elizabeth [Hyson] in Ohio. Born abt 1896 in Ohio.
The 1920 United States federal census states that Samuel and Helen Hyson with their daughter resided at 1107 Bellows Street, Akron, Summit County, Ohio. His mother divorced mother Elizabeth Spencer resided in the household as did his bother William Hyson. The family also rented a room to a boarder. The family rented their home. Samuel Hyson was a contractor in housing. William Hyson was labourer in a storage house. (T625-1439, Ohio, Summit Co., ED 181, Akron, p. 24A)
Samuel and Helen Hyson with their two duaghters resided at 318 Stanton Ave, Akron, Ohio according to the 1930 United States federal census. Samuel Hyson’s widowed mother Elizabeth Hyson resided in the household as did his grandfather John Bliss. They owned their own home which was valued at USD 4000.00. The census taker did not record whether they or anyone else on the census sheet owned a radio set. Samuel Hyson was a machinist in a boiler factory. Helen Hyson was a rubber work for Goodrich Tires.
