Ingram and Sophia Langille with three children resided in the Blockhouse census district, Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia according to the 1881 Canadian federal census. Sophia Langille’s widowed mother Caroline Zwicker lived in the household. Ingram Langille was a farmer. The family were Baptists with the exception of Caroline Zwicker who was a Presbyterian. Ingram Langille was the keeper of the poor asylum. Milledge Langille was a carpenter. Amynella Langille was a public school teacher. The family were Free Will Baptists.
