According to the 1881 census, Eliza Darlow was a servant in the household of the Tillard Family at Post Street, Godmanchester, Huntingdonshire. She was an under housemaid. Eliza Darlow was born at Hemingford Grey. (RG 11, piece 1603, folio 43, p. 15)

In the 1891 British census, Eliza Darlow (age 25) resided with her parents in Hemmingford Grey. Her occupation is listed as a domestic servant/cook. She was born in the parish. (RG 12, piece 1241, folio 119, p. 17). However, the 1891 census also records Eliza Darlow as a kitchen maid in the household of housekeeper Elizabeth Winterburn at Ashby Hall, Ashby de la Launde, Lincolnshire. She was born at Hemingford Grey, Huntingdonshire. (RG 12, piece 2577, folio 122, p. 5) It is possible that these entries refer to the same person. There was only one Darlow family in Hemingford Grey. Eliza Darlow may have been at her parents home when the census was taken while being employed at Ashby Hall.

Richard and Eliza Roberts resided Glebe Cottages, Weston under Lizard, Staffordshire according to the 1901 British census. He was a gardener. Richard Roberts was born at Llandysilio, Montgomeryshire. Eliza Roberts was born at Hemingford Grey, Huntingdonshire. Their son George Roberts was born at Weston under Lizard. (RG 13, piece 2522, folio 7, p. 6)

In 1891 the census states that Alice Darlow was a servant in another household near her parents. She was a cook. She resided on High Street, Hemmingford Grey in the household of Peregrine Edward and Sarah Ann Curtois. He was the clerk of the Holy Orders. (RG 12, piece 1241, folio 119, p. 17)

Thomas C. and Alice Ward resided with their daughter at North Road (Rose Villa), Goudhurst, Kent according to the 1901 British census. Thomas Ward was a foreman baker. He was born at Notting Hill, London. Alice Ward was born at Hemingford Grey, Huntingdonshire. Their daughter was born at Goudhurst. The Wards had two boarders in the household: Gertrude Vousden, an elementary school teacher from the parish; and Mary A. Secker, an elementary school teacher from Norwich, Norfolk. Tom and Margaret Appleby resided at Langar Newland Farm, Langar, Nottinghamshire according to the 1901 British census. He was a gardener (domestic). Tom Appleby was born at Goathland, Yorkshire. Margaret Appleby was born at Hemingford Grey. Their son Hector MacDonald Appleby was born at Bagthorpe Tyme, Norfolk, England.
