Born on 26 Oct 1862 in New Ross (area), Lunenburg Co., Nova Scotia.13 Howard Stannage was baptized in New Ross, Lunenburg Co., Nova Scotia, on 15 Mar 1863.13

Margaret Hiltz immigrated from Canada in 1878 and was not naturalized. Sarah Hiltz was born in Massachusetts. Joseph and Harold Hiltz were born in Canada and immigrated to the United States in 1897.
